HR Generalist

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Position Summary: The HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support, including employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, compliance, and onboarding. This role plays a key part in maintaining HR records, managing timekeeping and attendance, and supporting the daily functions of the HR department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer employee benefits and handle benefits-related inquiries.
  • Manage timekeeping records and ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Maintain personnel files and HR records in compliance with company policies.
  • Interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, and regulations to employees.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new employees.
  • Support employee relations, including handling conflicts and addressing workplace concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, workers' compensation, and unemployment procedures.
  • Assist in EEOC administration and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Conduct and document exit interviews.
  • Prepare HR reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of HR and administrative experience and an Associate’s Degree or equivalent with HR coursework and/or certification; or, 8+ years of progressive HR experience if no HR-related coursework.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Experience in benefits administration, payroll, and timekeeping.
  • Excellent decision-making and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
