Shift: 1st shift (5:30am – 4:00pm), 2nd shift (3:45pm – 2:15am)
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Role Overview: As an assembly technician, you'll perform precision welding tasks on plastic materials using hot air welding techniques. You'll ensure the structural integrity and durability of plastic components and assemblies, contributing to the overall quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Welding Operations: Perform hot air welding on plastic materials, including thermoplastics, using appropriate welding equipment and techniques; read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements; prepare plastic materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and aligning components; set up and operate hot air welding equipment, ensuring proper temperature and airflow for optimal weld quality.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications for strength, appearance, and durability.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of hot air welding equipment; manage and maintain personal and company tools to ensure original working condition is maintained.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean working environment; keep the work area clean and organized to the standard set by supervisors.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specifications; coordinate project communications via various channels (written, electronic, phone, and fax); support related tasks as assigned; communicate effectively with project partners, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Material Handling: Execute plastic welding of pans, rings, boxes, slopes, and piping, ensuring work meets quality standards; operate various power tools and hand tools, including but not limited to jig saws, oscillating saws, and drills; measure and cut material to fit design requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking long distances outside and across the manufacturing and construction site
- Lifting and carrying tooling, supplies, and material that are at least 25lbs
- Requires kneeling throughout the work day to complete tasks

- Reliable form of transportation
- Pass a drug screen and background check
- General technical knowledge and experience
- Consistent daily attendance and positive attitude
Work Conditions:
- Working on a large manufacturing site, including walking across the site and upstairs to work areas
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Proficient in the use of hot air welding equipment and tools
- Knowledge of different types of plastic materials and their welding properties
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Commitment to safety and following established protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is preferred
- Manufacturing experience is required in lieu of a trade school certification
- Experience as a plastic welder, with expertise in hot air welding techniques is preferred, but not required
- Experience using radial saws, hammer saws, hammer drills, jig saws is preferred
