Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the mechanical integrity and performance of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design: Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software; create detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure performance requirements are met; conduct thorough testing and analysis to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget; coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical designs meet quality and performance standards; work with the quality assurance team to conduct inspections and tests.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods during prototype building and testing
  • Lifting and carrying equipment and materials up to 25lbs
  • Occasional kneeling or bending to complete tasks

Other Requirements:

  • Reliable form of transportation
  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Consistent daily attendance and a positive attitude

Work Conditions:

  • Working in a high-tech engineering and manufacturing environment, including standing and walking across the facility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Commitment to safety and following established protocols
  • Experience with prototyping and testing mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes is preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
